FARGO — North Dakota State University showed off their newly-remodeled counseling center to students and faculty in an open house on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Those who attended got the chance to meet four therapy dogs, two miniature horses, and see the changes firsthand.

In addition to putting a window in every counseling room, the renovations added a relaxation room with calming music and activities like a massage chair and a virtual reality headset, as well as an art therapy room and a library.

The director of the counseling center Bill Burns says the improvements are all about creating a more inviting atmosphere for students.

"The bottom line is we're here to help students, and the more comfortable students can be to come in and get the help they need, the better it is," Burns said.
